New RC Pro 2 controller, should I update it first?

Just received a NIB RC Pro 2 controller. Going to bind it to my Air 3s which currently bound to a N3 controller. What is the correct procedure to follow? Have already updated the Air3s.

Yeah update the RC Pro 2 controller first and then connect it to the Air 3S and then follow the binding instructions once you log into your DJI account especially if you have DJI Care Refresh.
