Hi,
I haven't flown for ages and haven't really kept up with the changes made by the CAA for drones in the uk. But, I have had a email this week from the CAA reagrding the new rules and I'm assuming that my 249gram Mavic Mini falls into the UK0 and Legacy UAS Categories meaning that the mandatory use of Remote ID for my drone will be 1st january 2028. Also I don't think there's any new firmware for my original Mavic Mini to allow the drone to transmit Remote ID information ?
I'm just looking for a bit of confirmation that I'm correct ?

Help and information is always much appreciated,
Thank you,
Nick.

I don't believe the original Mavic Mini can be updated via firmware to support remote ID. You may need to purchase an external module.

Yes I received the same notifcation since I'm also registered in the UK.

You could purchase an RF ID module (aka remote ID(. When RF ID became mandatory for my RC planes in the USA, I purchased a Spektrum RF ID module I use in my planes only while flying from my own private field. I only have one RF ID module and its registered with the FAA (all my drones are too). I don't need the RF ID module when flying at my RC Club since its an FRIA approved location.

I had sold off my Mavic Mini by the time the RID regulation came out. It was my first Drone and alot of fun to learn on.
