New tablet versus DJI goggles

I'm currently flying a M2P with a Samsung S8. The S8 performs well and the amoled screen is beautiful. Main issue being the screen is a touch on the small size.

I'm considering either purchasing a Ipad 2018 (possibly the new Ipad Pro to be announced next week) or keep using my S8, (small screen) and investing in a pair of DJI Googles RE (once the FW is updated).

The difference in money between the 2 options doesn't concern me but I can't do both (or I will get shot [emoji849]).

I am a recreational flyer and prefer video to stills. I don't hike 20 miles into the bush mainly nearby private properties.

My question is, where do you think the money would be best spent and why?

Thanks for your thoughts.

I have goggles, cool at first, but now seldom used. If your looking at a larger screen or goggles, I would go with the larger screen. I bought a Samsung Note, using a controller mount.

I don't own goggles.

I do fly with an iPad 9.7" gen 5 (was $249 new not too long ago) and absolutely love it. I also have a 5.5" android phone and the iPad is soooooo much better.

Wow!......I wondered whether that might be the case - probably why I wrote the post. Thanks for your view.

Thanks for that. I love the idea of the goggles but it worried me they might end up a bit of a gimmick. Looks like the bang for buck might lay in the ipad. That said I was hoping to get away from a sun hood but that really just leaves CS which is not currently supported anyway. Back to the ipad - just hope they turn the nits up on the new Ipad Pro.
