Hi guys,
I am new to the drone world. Someone gave me a little Syma drone for Christmas that I've been playing with non-stop since then, until someone threw away the charger on accident. Well, I've been missing it, and I have been researching and reading about drones, and I thought I'd get something that would work well and have tech that wouldn't get dated very soon.

So, I just purchased a Mavic Pro 2 with the Smart controller and flymore kit, although it hasn't arrived yet. I have enjoyed reading and learning from the forum. I already enjoy photography with my DSLR camera and I love the outdoors. I look forward to participating here and learning from others.

I have a question, though. I purchased direct from DJI, and the estimated shipment was supposed to take five days, and it was supposed to arrive tomorrow. The latest update from Fedex shows there is a delay. I'll attach a screen shot of the status.

My questions are:
1) Is this customs delay normal and expected?
2) if not, does DJI need to contact Fedex? I wrote them and their response so far was just that "customs process takes 3-5 days." They didn't say they were taking any action. Do they need to?
3) Has this happened to anyone else here?

Thank you

My Smart Controller had the same delay in customs. I've had a lot of deliveries directly from DJI and this was the first. In the long run it took an extra business day (plus the weekend) to finally get delivered to me yesterday. It took about 24 hours for status to change.

Glad you got yours, Aerial-Pixel. My status has shown stuck in customs since Saturday. Hasn't changed. Seems longer than what most people have waited. Hopefully they get it figured out soon.

Hope your stuff gets out of customs soon! You're going to love it. I started with a Syma back in the day too. The Mavic 2 is a whole different world. St. George and the surrounding area is a great place to fly too. I'm based in Salt Lake, but I love getting down south to red rock country to fly. Welcome to the forum!

That's good to hear! Where do you fly the most up North?

Oh, all over! Utah is so full of great open spaces. I've flown in the Uintas, the West Desert, Big Cottonwood Canyon, along the shores of the Great Salt Lake and I've got a list as long as my arm of new places I'd like to fly. Just waiting for things to warm up a little bit and for there to be a little better light in the evenings. Right now with work, I can really only fly on the weekends.
