Newbie To The Forum from Sint Maarten

Hey all! I’m new to the forum, and also to using my Mavic 2 Pro for epic shots in vids that I recently learned to create using Final Cut Pro X. I’ve been flying drones for quite some time. My first was a DJI Phantom 2 Vision. I’ve got some epic scenery around me here on the island that I’m looking forward to capturing. Here is my first edited vid made using the Mavic 2 Pro and the Osmo Pocket while home in California for the holidays. Enjoy, and lookin forward to your comments! -Toryn

Hey nice work on the video. I have not had the time yet to dive into any video editing software so I just have random clips from wherever I go. Think I will need to get an Osmo at some point too. How was that nice meal you were enjoying with your girlfriend?

So you’re from sint Maarten, love that island my wife and I go there every year and having been for the last 17 years always take my drone & get some cracking photos while there. We always stay In Philipsburg in a boutique hotel just of the beach, Holland house beach hotel.

We stop there just about every year on our winter cruise and it's our favorite island in the Caribbean. I just bought a Mavic Pro and look forward to using it there if possible. Is Mullet Bay a no fly zone because of the airport?

A big fat no but last year I did see someone flying a drone there, don’t know what one it was. I fly in Philipsburg, early in the morning or late afternoon when the cruise ships are just about to leaving. Mullet bay and pinel island are another couple of great beaches we go to while we stay on the island. Last year we tried Karakter beach bar, another beach just a stones throw from the airport, highly recommend that but again it’s a no fly zone.

I’ve checked... everything is clear here. I’d say just be smart and stay out of the flight path and you’ll be ok. I fly at Mullet all the time. Check the latest SXM footage here
