Flying at night need not be scary - but you need your wits about you - .
1) switch off downward sensors
2) Use Google on Litchi ... (but be sure GPS is active... otherwise ...)
3) Fly 'first person' with goggles - ...
4) Figure out something awesome and Bright.... to shoot
5) Use course lock for sideviews -
6 ) Best views are to film three dimensional (mountain Views) ...
7) Set the video camera to Higher ISO...

8)... Don't Crash (Land in a very lighted Area) -
... add to this List

Watch this - awesome quick nightFlight - Tell me what you think ....

I know they are useless in the dark anyway, but why turn off the downward sensors? Also, if using a Pro, set focus to manual.

Nice video. Which Mavic?

Nice video. I love to watch the blinking lights. It makes me feel like I'm flying a real helicopter.

My first Mavic edit so it's a little rough, but I did my first flights at night, and in the snow. It sounds backwards, but sometimes up north in the winter it's warmer at night. In the day it was just too cold to fly.
Well, considering you're not supposed to, I don't do it.
This depends on your state. In Vermont where I filmed this all the shots were legal, you just need lights on your craft to fly at night

I had tried once - but Mavic had difficulties focusing, a lot of noise and generally unremarkable results, so I prefer to fly in better "filming" conditions :)
