I just downloaded the latest firmware upgrade to my new mini and when I try and fly it, I get a signal emanating from the middle bottom of the remote screen. When I tap on it, it states “No GPS signal. Change locations or check GPS settings.” It is indicating that 10 satellites are seen. I can’t find any GPS settings. Should I be concerned, and if so, any suggestions? Thanks.

It operated just fine before the firmware upgrade. I’ve had it for a couple weeks.

I remember to have read somewhere today that after a cold start it's slow on picking up satellites, but I cannot recall where. Have you tried to wait a bit (5 min) ?

It does take a while to see the 10 or 11 satellites it sees and gives me permission to fly. It went up 60 feet, slowly turned, shot video and came down to right where it started. But it is still emitting the message No GPS signal. It also says to check GPS settings and I can’t find where to do that.

Are you referring to the orientation indicator? It shouldn't need mobile GPS but it does need access to mobile compass. Be sure app has permission to location services.
If you're not talking about the orientation indicator, a screenshot of what you are referring to will help.

Yes, it was the aircraft orientation indicator that was flashing. But I just flew the AC and had no such problem. Phew! I was concerned. It may not have seen enough satellites yesterday. It was seeing 10 or 11 yesterday and as many as 14 today. Is there a minimum number of satellites necessary? Thanks everyone for your help.

10 satellites is DJI’s recommended minimum. Note that orientation of the satellites to the drone is also important... like in narrow canyons where problems can occur.

Orientation indicator is not critical for flight. You can ignore errors that's specific to it. Likely it can't read your device compass to determine which way you personally (not your AC) is facing.

Thanks. That is good to know.
