No shortage of US-based "authorized DJI partners"

Hmmm.... A remotely triggered 'kill switch' that cripples a bus or truck and renders it useless.... that is a huge worry and could cause chaos.

So why doesn't anyone turn a hair with exactly the same system built into Tesla cars? Could it be down to where the 'enemy within' 5th Column threat was built?
They do actually. China has a big problem with Tesla cars because they think Teslas can phone home and transmit data. They cannot be freely owned or operated by just anyone anywhere in China. They are banned from certain cities and districts especially when the party is in town.

Tesla Cars Were Barred For Two Months From An Entire Chinese District, As Beijing Considers Them US Spies

You know how Mossad infiltrated supply chains and implanted explosive devices into cell phones and walkie talkies? It took years to plan and execute but it decapitated and terrorized their adversary with a phone call. Now there are kill switches and then there are kill switches.

Doesn’t even need to be a Tesla. Most cars have some form of link back to the manufacturer, some just for turning on and off subscribed updates, others for phoning home in case of an accident. If they offer updates over the air they have access to the cars ECU’s and so can turn the car off when they feel like it.

If DJI doesn't defend their images, trademarks, copyrights, and branding then they'll weaken their company and lose their ability to fight against infringement in the future which would be ironic for a Chinese company in a country rife with patent theft.
How do you know that they haven't done so? Companies filing IP-related legal actions often do not announce them.

I was referring to Tesla's trundling around the US of A.

The point being that:

a) it isn't unusual and

b) that it isn't sinister in intent.... unless some agency decides to stoke the fires of paranoia.

That's the trouble with having a good grasp on the history of the late 20th century - you get to see where history starts repeating itself.

I don't know for sure, all I can tell is what I've seen and heard and smelled over the last few decades. If DJI is taking action, they need to get new lawyers because they suck. If a rogue company is ripping you off, it doesn't take that long to put them out of business or get a website taken down. You think if a website called "apple.us.com" started selling iPhones, you think it would survive more than a week? If DJI lawyers believe it takes months and years to fight to scammers, I don't know what to say except "it doesn't."

You don't press release about your legal business, you press release that we don't sell drones in the US currently and these half-dozen website that look like us....they ain't us. If you don't want to do that and you want to leave the American sheep to FAFO for themselves among the wolves.....so be it; we are used to being left out in the cold. Again, I'm not telling DJI what to do and I'm certainly not going to provide them with any legal guidance; all I can make are suggestions and after the ban, I will make my suggestions known since I understand DJI might be intimidated by the orange guy and not want to upset him before anything is final so maybe they are paralyzed and unable to do the right thing by America.

Perhaps they read this article and are preparing an offering of their own:

"....visited the Oval Office, bearing gifts including a Rolex gold watch and a specially engraved gold bar from Swiss-based gold refining company MKS."

It's too late for DJI to try to appease the Orange Autocrat of Avoidable Price Surges. Congress passed the bill with broad bipartisan support that will effectively ban DJI, and Biden signed it. An executive order signed by the president would not be able to override the terms defined by the 2025 NDAA. He could try, but it would get slapped down in court.

At most, he could have the FCC slow walk the ban or prevent them from revoking FCC licenses for existing products. He could also prevent Customs from seizing drones at the border.

Another thing that the Mango Mussolini could do is to pressure leaders in Congress to get an agency to run the security audit. He should be able to order the NSA to perform the audit and get it over with. There is no way this could be started before December 23rd, but it could be done in 2026. I doubt it's going to happen; no one in Congress is going to lead a charge that would bring back DJI during a mid-term election year.

Buckle up; more scammers in the mix. Hijacking and stealing and using AI to defraud their victims. This is absurd:

Make the most of it... I'll give this comment all of 10 minutes before it's complained about and deleted because of "political" reasons
I think it will be safe. This whole forum full of politics now. Drones are just an excuse for some to sprout their political biases'

Wonder where they got that water footage or if it was just AI generated

Yeah I think it's AI.
Those ads are totally out of control!

They’re obviously very easy to identify as scams, but unfortunately I’m sure there are some people who fall victim to this and it’s really sad. TikTok is absolutely full of scammers for just about every product being an ad advertised. I recently saw VP Racing fuel jugs being sold by multiple sellers and advertisements like you posted above for the drones and for ridiculously low prices on TikTok, which was obviously a scam.

We’re already in the age of deception and 2026 might just kick the age of deception into high gear thanks to continued advances in artificial intelligence. We’re already being manipulated, but it’s gonna happen at a whole new level. At some point, how are we going to know what we’re seeing on TV or through social media is actually real or not, and how do we know what information can be trusted?

I’d be happy to go back to the 70s!

To me, the only answer is the "trusted seller" where you can only buy from someone you know and know well. Otherwise, there's no way to know for sure what you see or hear or read. Unfortunately there is still greedy so it's always going to be a scammer's paradise; there will always be plenty of victims.
