I just got my first drone, a Mavic Mini. Even though I am in the early stages of learning to fly (I have only trimmed two trees so far), it is a blast. I bought the Mini as a starter drone just to see if I liked it before upgrading to a more expensive one, but I am so impressed with it I may keep it longer than I planned. I am glad I found Mavicpilots so I can learn from others.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to our Forum, from Hauptmann in Texas!

You picked a winner in the Mini. Don't be fooled by its small size and low price. It's a high performance quad with a great camera. I fly an M2P, but I flew my friend's Mini for all of 5 minutes, and was impressed as hell. Still am. I lived in SD (Rancho Bernardo) for 25 years, but don't hold that against me.

BTW, be cautious flying near Moonlight Beach (PM me if you want details). Some residents there are adamantly anti-drone. Also, be careful flying in wind. Many of us have lost our Minis due to high winds. Read the manual, and practice using “Find My Drone”. Chances are you’ll crash and perhaps lose your Mini. Don't wait until that happens to learn how to recover a lost drone.

I hope DJI updates the Fly App with larger fonts to make it easier to read. Some of our members have trouble with it.

Glad to have you as a member. We need some young blood like you in this forum (I'm 78). Happy flying!
