Hi,

I'm going to be taking a trip to Canada at the end of the year and was wondering if any American citizens have had success obtaining an SFOC from Canada, without being FAA Part 107 certified, after Canada changed their drone laws last year. I fly as a recreationally flyer in the States and not interested in going through the Part 107 certification.

Thanks!

I am in Canada and I wrote and passed the basic test with no issues. I am not 100% sure but isn't the 107 the advanced test and only for people flying over people and events?

Yup, just apply for your SFOC and you should be good to go. Fill out the form and mail it.
