Odd tracking behavior

I was filming my niece and nephew sledding in the snow today and was playing around with the object tracking. At first I was just having it track them while staying stationary, then tried to have it follow them. As soon as I turned it on, the drone immediately starting flying backwards away from the subject and almost flew into a tree. It went so far in the opposite direction that the subject it was supposed to be tracking was not visible as there was a house in the way. Anyone else seen behavior like this from their M4pro?

This is a known problem when trying to track a moving subject who is zig-zaging or simply moving too fast you can change the settings to brake instead of bypass...This should help a bit with the rearward movement.

The problem is that the subject was stationary and had not started moving yet, and they would have been moving right to left from where the drone was instead of front to back or back to front.

I have had my drone "back-away" from subjects I tried to capture while they were already in Motion. I think it fools the sensor and confuses the Drone. I never really had a problem with filming when the subject...Cooperated. lol

Although not ideal for close tracking, I've had zero issues with the M4P track me from about 15-20' away, zig zagging on my bike around our lawns, onto the grass, driveways, close to the house, away from the house, around trees and the open, it religiously followed me around.

I really wish I would have had the video recording going at the time to help investigate it, but of course I was not recording because the sledder was just sitting down and waiting to go. Oh well, I'll play around with it some more in the future when it is not 12 degrees outside with 9" of snow.
