Time to dust off this science project and put it on a diet. I have been wanting to test 3x mavic battery cells but got busy, now I have an excuseAround 680g with DJI battery.
Estimated 1140g with 8Ah battery mod.
Just when I thought I had seen it all lolEnough talking, time to go flying. My takeoff weight went from 1399 to 1329 grams. Isn't she a beauty? A face only a mother could love
Lolo, have you done a grand total weight loss measurement yet?

Don't forget battery mod vs stock. Would be useful to see current draw and battery temp.
light speed you been out lately. I did that 39k on last Sunday and the group was there. You should ditch the battery casing. It weighs more than you think.

Yes I bench tested all 3rd party batteries and got voltage readouts, but no flight tests yet. Proceed with caution until more data is gathered. Will that work the same with 3 aftermarket packs? I'd like to run 3 x 4500 and have voltage displayed at least.
WOW .Thats impressive.Great job@JakeMaxxUAV
30,308ft tonight, another stock battery record. More favorable wind tonight and turned around at 43%, but temps were lower and the battery was running low 30's C most of the way.
27,969ft on the test flight landing with 7%.Low voltage landing kicked in 250m out over a field full of deep wet grass. This is how it looks out of my car window. No way in **** I was going in there for the bird so I nursed it the last bit over the power lines with full left stick and just managed to brake the descent into ground effect and land it.
Oh my! Wonderful. Looking forward to the end result of this one.
Already working on Mavic #3. This will be the longest range build with 2 batteries inside with the option of a 3rd external top or bottom. I need to widen the area between the front arms by 12mm to get the CG where I want it.
Carbon tow plus epoxy will make for some interesting custom bodywork.
Battery leads straight on to the esc board. No DJI battery circuitry anywhere. I'll hang a voltage display in front of the camera if I have to.
Schulze said 6km surface, 29km @300m. Windy.com said 0 surface, 6-8 @100m. Both totally wrong so I just winged it to see what happens.what kind of wind were you dealing with?
Great flight!@JakeMaxxUAV
