Just bought a Mavic Air 2S a couple weeks ago but still haven't fired it up, as I am studying for the General sUAS Part 107 test. I'm thinking it may be easier than I expect and so I'm tempted to take it next week.
I'm 43, living on my boat in Santa Barbara, CA. I live in the harbor and frequently go out rowing, hiking, and am a huge fan of nature. I thought it would be fun to have a drone to capture some nice footage of adventures here and there. I decided to go for the commercial pilot license just to have fewer restrictions on usage if I ever want to monetize a Youtube, do gigs for others, or use the drone to do any repair surveillance, etc. I am also a former woodland firefighter and thought the applications for firefighting are great.
