Hello all,
I have been lurking about reading and checking things out and thought it was time to introduce myself as that would be the proper thing to do before I go on and keep adding my comments here and there.
I have been involved in modelling fixed wing and single rotor craft and also have a diploma hanging on the wall for a real world A&P or AME tech.

I have flown real time (licensed) and have some knowledge of principles and laws pertaining to piloting and keeping things hanging in there as it were. Including manufacturing and repairing aircraft.

I recently fell back into the irrisistable need for flying something so I ended up with a slightly used lady driven Pro with the fly more package.

Since there was a lag time of maybe 4 years since the RC days, two drones and about 6 heli's (of which I only built two,) I was pretty amazed to find the Mavic Pro in all its glory.

So now I'm back again practicing but only have a very short time in on the Pro due to my work situation.
The Gimbal issue was due to inattentiveness while it was parked on the bed sheet and killed the Gimbal at the camera end due to heat or strain.
I thought that initially the firmware update may have been responsible due to excessive hype and misplaced trust as perceived from the writeups.
Just can't see it that way and after re-checking and some thinking it was Me who killed the Gimbal.
It does do its self-check but can't complete it due to either a fried motor or more likely a damaged cable.

Anyhow, I enjoy the forum and learned from it (that never stops!) and also see some of the antics that depict myself very well.
I am glad to be here and for the first little while will quietly take in the site's various departments and people.
It's a whole new world order for an older world order kinda guy but I'm lovin it.
PJ.

Thank you folks,
I now have one Pro lost in the US mail system (for now I'm sure)
And another Pro with me on the way to Salt lake City (soon to be renamed Salt "POND" City due to dissapearing lake water.)
Hoping to get a few shots in of that while I take a break.
So I am learning as I go but very careful and aware of the learning curve, so I'm low time wheels down for now but will take a sneak view of the lake when I get there as my first major jump at the puddle for a minute or so, just to get a snap of video of the water situation for future education for the grand kids.
Thank you for the replies, PJ.

Yup looks good, feels good, must be an ok site, so far I've visited and read a few threads and learned a shipload more than I already knew. And now I know now that I really didn't know as much as I originally thought I knew.
The MP and the technology built into it made me sit up and re-assess my time with the old RC finger fight drones and it livened my weary bones up to the point of spending a bit more of the ever so elusive inheritance to my offspring to ummm... well...educate myself.
Nuff said.
Wyoming, a beautiful take off and landing patch for sure!
Thank you for the hospitality. PJ.
