Greetings from Carolina, I just got a Mavic pro, traded my Parrot Disco for it, did not really want to but, I had to see first hand how DJI is.I have always stayed away as they are the Apple of drones but, like apple I have to admit the interface and ease of start up makes them a perfect first time droners best choice.
I am the head of Chapel Hill Carrboro FPV and have building and flying drones for working on 6 years. I have in my hanger all the way from a multiwii FC to now a DJI Mavic pro. I have tested and bought a few ready to go drones including the Disco from parrot, a awesome craft but it has limitations of a fixed winged craft. I have flown the Mavic now about 6 times and with the exception of the app not wanting to work on a newer google pixel 2 xl phone and a few tablets i have it has been a joy. I even flew it once on WiFi to see how well it would do. (the disco has problems doing that as it is a wing) I would compare this one to the Xiro explorer V I have but, the Xiro has longevity issues with it's compass.
I think my only complaint so far is why can't we get a windows PC application or a Chromebook one? anyway My Mavic pro has been tuned or rather tweaked to be more agile and faster than a stock Mavic. The acceleration is awesome
