Its actually Rule number 13 The Moderators here let us scratch the surface of the subject at times as long as it doesnt get out of hand or nasty. But yep Politics and religion are Taboo here for very good reason at least I think.

How can you discuss tarrifs in your country which has hit potential and existing drones pilots hardest without politics being discussed?
You can't really . I think that is why the Moderators and staff here have given us a little leeway when it comes to mixing politics with the subject of tariffs. It can be done without the "off" comments tho and those are the ones that find themselves deleted. I am a violator of this and have had a post just yesterday deleted for political comments. They were more poking fun at the POTUS tho and less about tariffs and that's probably why they nipped it. It is their forum and they can place the rules. SO all I can tell you is that In my opinion None of the respectful Political statements have been removed really and as long as you don't be disrespectful about how you make your statement about the Government or the POTUS I think they just may let it slide BUT it is against the rules (13) SO don't cry if they delete your comments.

That’s what X and all the other political social websites are for. Don’t want it polluting this forum.

There's politics and there's current events. It is a non-political fact that Donald Trump is responsible for enacting very high tariffs on imports of Chinese products, including DJI drones, to the US. And it's a fact that he has changed those tariffs frequently and that there is a lack of clarity in justifying them and in how they are to be applied. It's a fact that those tariffs are having a significant effect on consumers in the US. The unavailability of the Mavic 4 Pro in the US is an example.

I applaud the moderators for allowing the discussions here to deal with the subject of tariffs and their effects and for weeding out the posts that step too far away from fact and into political rhetoric.

It's a very thin line, politics can be discussed as long as we don't trash talk anybody. ✌️

So by your rule of thumb should all discussion of tariffs have been banned from the forum from the start as they were put in place by politicians?

I posted his earlier -

the world is filled with grey....or is that gray?

Tariffs are political

and it was absolutely political when Rep Elise Stefanik and Sen Rick Scott were trying to ban DJI (& Autel) drones thru reactionary legislation over the past year....goaded by Skydio. Politics

impossible to discuss those things without dancing around in the gray

All true. So, does a post need to be directly related to drones, else it's off limits to be mentioned, even though it is objectively factual? Asking for a friend. 🤔
For example, in some of the latest deleted posts, when points were objectively factual, they were deleted along with the posts that simply were name calling and obviously needed to go.

@clackey ??

Tariffs are really economy vs political, but because EVERYTHING is now seen through the eyes of people's political viewpoints, reality of that is getting lost. I don't think Trump is trying to do anything political with tariffs (at least not locally), but he is trying to get a much more level playing field in the global economy - something the USA has not been playing on for a long time. For sure that could "hurt" and cause price issues in the USA for a short time...but I think we are seeing the other countries lining up to play because the USA is still the economy they want to engage in.

Can you point to these great deals that are getting lined up? He's usually big on announcements and short on details. Kind of like his other businesses. The big one, of course is when he blinked first with China. I don't think it's going so well. He did show the penguins who's boss.
But you are correct that Americans are in for some pain.
