PC and MAC insist I format my new SD card

Ive had a few fake sandisc pro extremes on Amazon that had similar issues or if they did work were so slow it hung up the entire processor trying to write.
They looked *identical* to genuine cards, even the packaging. But weren't.

How did you know it was fake?

I bought a Sony Vaio usb flash drive at the "pearl market" in Beijing. When you plugged it into a laptop, it showed 64GB, which was a LOT of memory back then. You could even write to it, which I did with some data for a presentation. The presentation was a bust - nothing on the drive - the flash controller IC inside there reported all the memory, but the actual flash didn't exist. I found out later that Sony never made a "Vaio" flash drive. I got Shanghaied!

Clearly the card in the aircraft needs to be fast I have a Sandisk 12Gb Extreme and it works fine, but does the one in the smart controller need to be quite so fast?

How did you know it was fake?

Confirmed via sandisk who gave more detailed methods of checking the card and packaging.
