Yeah, I have been messing with a Android lately.
From your note, "I've been messing with Android lately…" sounds like Android is not your go-to OS… But if you are having problem lately, is it because your Android device (phone or tablet) is not a good choice for the DJI software?
I am using the DJI Fly App on my Galaxy Tablet S2 (a 2017 model), a Galaxy Tablet A8, a Motorola Moto G Power Smart Phone (a 2020 model), and a Motorola Moto G Play Smart Phone (a 2024 model). All of these are Android device ranging for Android Version 7 up to Version 14…
And the only problem I had was back in Feb 2024 with DJ Version 1.12.X and DJI Forum folks helped me resolve it ans I posted the cure here…
I have two issues with DJI Fly App Version 1.12.8…
I have not flown my
DJI Mini 2 in a while and I updated the software to Version 1.12.8 on my three devices that I often fly with: my Android Smartphone, a Motorola Moto G, and my two Samsung Android tablets: Galaxy A8 and the Galaxy S2. In the past all three have worked perfectly.
However, on the two tablets. When I launch the DJI Fly App the screen locks up with the following display. The is not way to go anywhere with this screen, no hot spot, and I can only get out of this is by stopping the App. I have rebooted both tablets...
I get my phones from HSN or QVC when they run their TradFone specials. The New phone comes with one-year of service and it is usually in the $50 to $80 price range… The last purchase was for Two Motorola Moto G Play Smart Phones (the 2024 model) and both came with the one-year of service, all for $80.00.
And I usually buy a new phone every new year to keep the service going…
So, with all this being said, over the years between 2020 and 2024 the phones that I bought did not run the DJI Fly App, in spite of them having all the bells and whistles (processor 64-bit, 3GB or better Ram, 32GB or better storage, and the necessary sensors…
Reasons for this probably revolve around the phone's firmware and the way the manyfacturer pays with the various versions of Android to get the most out of the phone…
So, if you can't get your Android phone working, it just might not be compatible due through no fault of DJI…
I you want to try some older versions of the DJI Fly App or the DJI Go APP, here are the links to the APKs…

By the way, DJI does not maintain a web site that they make known to the public of old versions. Their rational is that the drones operate better with the latest firmware and they do not want folks going back to Pre-RID firmware to evade the RID Requirement.
