HI, I know this port is a little late on this thread. But has anyone managed to find a group or club that flies drones in Long Island?

You can fly in some of the county parks but you need a permit. With a resident Green Card the cost for the permit is $35 for the year and it covers you from Jan 1st to Memorial Day. Some of the parks are closed to drones during the beach season (Memorial Day to Labor Day).
