I set my preferred location and format in the app. I use DNG+jpeg

Your image files are only ever saved by the camera as jpg or dng files.
It cannot save as anything else.
Whatever Editor does to them after they are taken is something else.

Is there a setting in editor so photos are saved as jpg ?

No it isn't.
The files are only ever saved by the camera as jpg or dng files.
It cannot save as anything else.

Well we know his Editor app is saving something as a png file.
Whether it's a jpg image or a dng preview is immaterial.

If the png was converted from a jpeg, it can be used to Edit and Save. It would be interesting to know the resolution of the png.
If it's a Preview the resolution would be low and not worth editing.
