Polar antenna for the Titan Cyclone conversion

I ordered theses adaptors and used a couple of 2.4GHz with 6db gain. Just waiting to try them out.

You can order them if you dont want to use the heavy antenna all the time.

If you order the Atlas you can take of the whip antennas and use them by themselves without having to use the heavy panel, but the signal won't be amplified.
In the Atlas I suspect that the panel is only part of the design in order to hold the amplifiers and the battery, I don't think it contributes to the antenna.

The whip antennas just clip into the QMA antenna mounts, so they can be used with any controller that has been converted, the plastic bar holder is needed to stop them flopping around

Works well for me, over doubled my normal range and in snow fall with stock the video was breaking up at about 2-3 meters away, still got over 1km with Atlas with no problem, don't think it went off full bars

Here are the internal photos of the Titan Cyclone. I'm waiting for good flying conditions here in UK to test out the maximum distance range with Titan Cyclone standard setup. Today I flew with only the RC and +6db gain polar antennas and got out to 12,500 ft with only a one bar signal drop!

I'm thinking to ditch the panel antenna and go with boosted polar +6db antennas.......but I want to range test the standard set-up first.

All the weight of the Titan is in the casing rather than the internal components....

When you mean boosted are you talking about the Titan Atlas (linear polarised) which use the whip antennas ?

It looks like most other RC hobbyists use similar power amplifiers (2-4w) and feed the +6db gain polar antenna. (I'm relatively new to this so maybe I don't use the correct terminology or names of the items. Basically I'm thinking to remove the supplied panel antenna and fit SMA panel mount fittings to the front cover plate out of the amplifiers.

Then reassemble and on the outside screw on the SMA polar antenna that have +6db gain.

Your Mavic......your choice. You don't need to worry about others spending habits or their perception of what is useful or otherwise. By all means chip in with comments about your maximum flight distance using your very portable drone.

Chip in about not flying past line of sight and putting lives in danger. Have fun flying over some boring *** corn field.

25,059 feet. Seems far enough. Not trying to brake any rules or pretend this is some long distance craft. Get a modded Parrot Disco if you want to go far.

Line of sight is a hard and fast rule, no doubt, so no one can argue with you on that, but it is relevant to risk and flying over empty landscapes never seems boring to me.......maybe you are in the wrong hobby if this is what you really think, but it's your choice as I say live and let live.
