This morning about 6am.
We've had a good run of very warm sunny days, but as soon as there's a hint of east in the wind the North Sea can pour fog inland.
The water is still only about 10C and warm humid air crossing it inevitably condenses out to form an incredibly dense chilly blanket near the surface.

It generally struggles to push over higher ground inland, and burns back to the beach by mid-morning.
The risk gradually diminishes through summer as the Sea warms slightly.

If you are under fog it will be damp and 12C but in the sun half a mile away could be 25C and lovely.

A waterfall and hanging garden at the head of a box canyon in the recently gutted "Grand Staircase/Escalante National Monument". The trail to it is 3 miles (4.8km) long.

Perhaps not my best but I had to fly over a mile from one side of a waterway in high winds to capture this shot. I was getting nervous because it was so far so I didnt get as close as I wouldve liked. This pic is actually pretty heavily cropped and still prints out nice to 13x19. I think shows you can do a lot with 12 mega pixels.View attachment 18671
