Pre-order and Shipping Times - Who Will Get the Mavic First?

The funny thing is, no matter where you are from, or what culture you are brought up in, when it comes to our hobby, us men all have one thing in common, which is great majority of us tend to need to seek permission from the wife to buy "another drone".
In my drone group in Singapore, we call our wife the commander in chief, or CO(commanding officer)

DJI Customer Service responded to my email and said that the first batch is set to ship on October 15th. Since I placed my order later (Oct. 5th), I should expect mine to ship "early to mid November". I understand that they had pretty high demand and are probably trying to catch up; however, it's pretty frustrating that the site still had an estimated ship date of mid-October when I placed my order. Don't charge my card for thousands of dollars and then push the delivery date back a month, that's just bad business. I guess I will just have to wait and see if an authorized retailer gets them in first and I'll just cancel the pre-order.

Thats exactly the reason i will buy the drone when it is available at payment, i don't want to pay for something that i will have to wait for and thats probably going to be late anyways, as is common with DJI´s new products.
And the second reason is that the first firmware release often have problems, so i rather wait a couple of weeks extra so they can hopefully sort out any firmware problems etc.
It´s not the end of the world if one will have to wait a couple of weeks extra for the drone.

Shipping Updates:

B&H - unknown/refused to give any details. They are closed for a Jewish holiday until October 26th so the earliest they would ship out is that day. Update 10/13: They have now updated their page to say that they're shipping at the end of October. Update 10/14: Inquired about my order placed 9/28 via chat and the CSR said "I have looked into this for you and currently your order is estimated to arrive at our warehouse by 10/28. As soon as we receive it in stock we will ship your order to you, and e-mail you with the tracking information. I apologize for this delay and any inconvenience it may have caused you." so as of now, B&H are getting their Mavic stock on October 28th.

Drone Nerds - They will not receive their stock until mid-November.

Best Buy - The manager at a local store didn't see it on their list of upcoming deliveries this week, and their website still says they are shipping out October 31st.

Atlanta Hobby - "DJI has not given us any concrete shipment dates. DJI first stated that shipment should start around the middle of October however we are hearing rumors that date has been pushed back. I'm sorry but we just don't have the information to provide any specific dates or details on this product shipment times."

Drone World - Heard word directly from DJI that the release date has been pushed back and they will not ship out until early November. They weren't sure if this was just for them, for all resellers in general, or for ALL preorders.

DJI - According to a chat, they will only ship Mavics ordered within the first two hours of Sept 27th on October 15th. Orders from Sept 28th onward will be shipped mid-November. New chat mentioned two days instead of two hours. Confusion abound.

Newegg - Webpage says it will be shipped 10/25.

Apple - No definitive dates, just 'November'.

Post your retailer, order date (PDT if possible), and ship out date when available! Let's see who receives the item first!

ordered on 7th from heliguy uk still in progress
ordered another from ukdronestore via eBay on 16 oct for delivery 27/28th oct

It only says that on mobile, leading me to believe they simply forgot to put in the mobile version of that word. On a desktop PC is says "TBA" in that field.

6:35 AM, Monday morning at DJI HQ in Hong Kong. Hopefully we'll have a new update provided by our reps sometime during their Monday workday. We're hoping the factory has been busy over the weekend!

Over the years DHL has definitely been DJI's most frequently used carrier but as a of late, a lot more is going with UPS and FedEx. At least for us, any shipments containing batteries are shipped by UPS but I know that is not true across the board.
