Pre-order and Shipping Times - Who Will Get the Mavic First?

Add me to the Flymore "shipped" list from Newegg (direct from Shenzen). Expected arrival is next Tuesday via FEDEX. Ordered 10/30.

Here's what @Advexure said yesterday:

Seems like they've been averaging about 18 units a week so far...hopefully that'll pickup...

The argument I have to make though is, DJI didn't release when they said they would, they're sending out random numbers of Mavics at random times, apparently Apple seems to be getting enough that a lot of people are just walking in and getting them so they obviously weren't pre-ordered. Advexure is a tier 1 dealer but they can't distribute what they don't have, and from what I hear they stay on DJI about shipments and DJI is just kind of throwing shipments around. I believe us people who ordered should've gotten them before walk-ins could get them but most of these people walking in have been waiting too, they just went where it was quicker so you can't blame em. Advexure I believe and hope are doing what they can to get shipments out. When it comes to product that distributors get and delays, I have to put the blame on the one providing the product which is DJI.

I happy for all of you who ordered from Newegg on 10/30 and are receiving your shipments already. Haven't heard a word from B&H and they aren't supplying any information when I have called.

I also made an order through Newegg this week, as their site had them listed in stock, but DJI confirmed the unit wouldn't ship until 12/25 so I cancelled.

When is B&H getting their stock???

I believe I was 50 or so away a week or more ago, I don't know if that is both basic and combo, or if they separate those lists. It would make sense though for you to be a little ahead of me. Eighteen units a week is sad on DJI's part considering @Advexure is a tier one dealer and they seem to be shrugging them off and in turn it makes people look at Advexure badly when it's really not their fault.

I agree i don't know how many drones Apple sells or how many people think of Apple when they want a drone but I'd bet they just don't want to piss off Apple. Personally I'd think they should supply Best Buy if they are gonna make people wait who ordered directly from them.

They definitely don't want to make Apple mad, but they also shouldn't make promises to places like Apple that they can't fulfill until they fulfill their direct pre-orders and their tier one dealers, which I guess Apple is going to be their biggest dealer now. It's still crappy in my opinion, and newegg is apparently the next place if you want it quick.

Stopped by apple store in sugar land, tx (suburb of houston) this morning. Asked specialist to check if they have any mavics in stock or being unloaded. He said that he could see that propellers were being unloaded. He took my name and said he would hold and call me if they had one. 30 minutes later, received a call... they were holding the only mavic that just came in for me. i just got back home from picking it up.

one thing he told me was that if apple has less than 5 (five) of anything in store, inventory will show as unavailable.

I'll be cancelling my best buy order.

@TobyMcCann, when I ordered from NE on 10/31, the confirmation had an estimate of 12/15 - so don't go off of that. Order it and see. If something else comes up, you can always cancel. They don't charge until it ships. In fact, that's how I knew they shipped. 17 days from order to shipping. I suspect that wil only improve.

I founf ONE Mavic in downtown Chicago. Phoned my local Apple store and the nice lady there said they were out of stock until mid-January, but if I wanted, she could call a store 20 miles away and have them hold it for me.

Already paid. There is a Mavic in Chicago that belogs to me.
This weekend, at a time to be determined with my obliging family, I will pick up the coolest little camera-thing I've ever owned. I feel like I won the lottery and look forward to cashing that particular grey flying ticket.

Still not gonna cancel my DJI order until the Apple one is actually in hand, because paranoia, you know?

Thank god it's over. (Well, almost.) Now Thursday, hurry up and finish so I can get Friday over with!

Apple Store on 5th Avenue in NYC had a couple today.

Sorry I didn't post here, I quickly called a couple friend that live up there, and they scooped 'em up.

Just FYI though, for anyone who is trying the Apple Store trick. Check their website every 30 minutes!! I check on the Apple site at 10:30am and every single store in the NYC metro area all said Jan15. At 11:05 I checked again and the 5th Ave NYC store said "pickup today"....so obviously the update that inventory throughout the day. If you're lucky and check at just the right time like I did, you can either pick one up or let your friends know.

Yep. The nice lady I talked to on the phone said that they update their site pretty much right when new units of anything come in, or sell.

Yes they did. It said "pickup January" for me too. Nice lady at the Northbrook Apple store told me they had one after checking despite what the web site said. Thanks to her, I've paid for the thing and now... well, they don't really have that particular unit anymore, for sale. Now it's mine and waiting for its new home. Thumbswayup

WTF I called them at 10, 11, and 1230 and they said they didn't have any.... Same with the website.
