I know, they buy the latest in drone tech and still struggle with a phone camera.... doesn't bode well for flying skills! LOL

I ordered the mavic with a spare battery and a USB type C cable.

I was just emailed by DJI. The email said that there was no need to buy the Type C cable as they are now included (I only seen the USB and lightning cable in the user manual)

I was invited to cancel the order... I don't think I will.

Drone nerds first told me early November, the second time the lady told me November 20th (my bday) yesterday a guy told me November 7th. so they have no clue basically.

Hints: take your time to work on your piloting and filming skills... OR spend megabucks on pro drones with second controllers and camera operators. And yes you can fine tune yaw and gimbal speed to get smoother tilts and pans. Just look around what ppl can do with these non-pro pro drones.

We got people out there crashing their Mavics on purpose... Smh.

There will be "destruction porn" videos on-line the day these things start getting into peoples' hands. I don't know why the market for senseless destruction of things exists, but it does. Welcome to the Internet.

Dispatches 3rd of November. Before this I had no estimated date from them. It just said they will email me when they had a delivery date. Looks promising.

As I said earlier the Karma is a very attractive piece of kit in person and while it is behind the Mavic technically I think it will still sell well, especially if GoPro can deliver on or near launch date and it takes DJI a month or two to keep shelves stocked reliably. They are both brand new models so there are many unknowns, such as will one or the other exhibit operational defects once they are in real consumer service, etc., but I wouldn't count the Karma out of the competition just yet.

I have been watching some Mavic videos where people have crashed it etc.. I was to believe that the obstacle guidance is there but it does have its limitations eg: field of view, time of day usage (dark/light) etc.. so maybe these are user errors and not the uav fault ?

Yeah, I really feel the Karma will sell very well. I think there are a lot more "Gopro" people out there than there are drone people. So for the Gopro people, they will probably get this as their first drone. If someone really wants the Hero Black 5, getting the Karma with it is a great deal at $1100. You figure, Backpack is $100, Hero Black 5 is $400, Steadycam is $200, so you're getting the drone for $400. Not bad. I have the Hero Black 4 Silver, so if I wanted, I can get a Karma for $800. Though if I were to do it, I'd want the Hero Black 5. It's not on my radar just yet, but maybe a couple of months after I get my Mavic.

I know this is no mavic.. but i really like the snap by vantage Preorder Snap Flying Camera from Vantage Robotics 895$ seems pretty reasonable for it too.. but I haven't seen much demo or user based footage for it.. wonder if anyone here has ?
