I've just bought a Pro4 mini.
I've flown it a few times, and see 'account not logged in' flashing, which I have bypassed so far.
From what I've read it needs to be logged in to 'escape' the distance limits etc.
I started to log in, and was faced with terms and conditions that go on for miles, where it states all of the information about the pilot that will be shared with DJI and others, which seem to me to be over the top, 'if I understand it correctly'.
Is there a way to fly unlimited, without logging in?
Cheers, C.

Welcome to your new responsibilities of flying drones in today’s world! For your flying enjoyment and to ensure everyone else’s safety, be sure to properly register it with the authorities and put the registration number they give you on a tag or write it with a sharpie predominately on the outside of your new drone. Enjoy your flights afterwards! 😉

Short answer is: Yes, those of us who fly drones legally have all had to sign that paperwork…

Are you happy to share so much of your privacy.
If you're referring to logging into DJI Fly, I'm fine with it. These days, staying logged in to use apps and devices is pretty standard.

Hi A and M,
I've enjoyed a life of freedom to privately walk, drive, watch TV, fly models etc, and I'm slowly being cornered by phones TVs cars, cameras and now a little hobby. I'm obviously going to have to accepts, but it is very uncomfortable sharing much of what I do with remote countries, with all sorts of agendas and for what?
Thanks, C.

The good news is you're not required to use any of these devices. The choice is entirely yours.

The 'terms & conditions' only apply to the DJI customer account, they have nothing to do with the drone as it is being used.

If you don't want to share information about your flight details: you don't have to. If you want to go belt & braces, you can engage 'airplane mode' on the device screen which locks the FLY app well away from any kind of internet connection.

The only thing you need to do every so often is check the FLY app to make sure it is logged in with your DJI account - this gets rid of the distance and height restrictions. After that: go right back to airplane mode and you're 100% private all over again.

No! you do not have to "Obviously Accept" these conditions… If you are that concerned about this, then sell your DJI Mini 4 Pro… There are many folks standing in line hoping to get one…

Once you sell it and probably for a profit, you can get one of the those drones (pronnly at a much lower price…) that do not require you to provide that information…

But as you noted, you want to escape the "Distance Limits" which are approximately 100' (30 meters) so you can enjoy the full range of distance that OcuSync 4 offers at 10-miles (16-kilometers) but in doing so and replacing that Mini 4 Pro with another brand you will now be restricted to their own range limitations, which generally range from 100 to 500-meters at best…

So, you decide are you willing to trade your name for this trade off…
