Problems with connecting controller to drone

I have a great Mavic air 2 but recently when I was flying it, it suddenly for the first time ever, catastrophically lost connection. It returned to home safely but now I cannot connect the controller to the drone any more. Moreover, I cannot connect the drone to my computer running Windows 11 with a USB-c cable so I cannot update firmware or reset to factory defaults, using Mavic Assistant 2. I am not sure what to do except to return the unit to Mavic and ask them to sort it out. Any ideas or similar experiences? Maybe the USB electronics has failed??!! Think the first thing I would try is a new Cable, as they are known to go bad.

Thanks, yes I have two brand new cables but they do not fix the problem!
