Pulled the trigger on the Pro instead of the Platinum, this inconsistent date and communication on release date and folks being force to cancel pre-orders have me concern on many fronts with a new product release.

Now the fun begins making sure all the firmware and software is updated and getting the mods that make the most sense to have. And most of all reducing the Mavic Newbee mistakes.

Also, does anyone have a list of retailers or authorize parts dealers for the Mavic?

Pro is fairly sensible choice.
if the platinum was already released and you buying it new then be other matter, but god knows how soon the platinum will be available from a practical standpoint.
the only thing perhaps worth getting from the platinum is the new props for noise reduction, but if not a concern wait till your first set have reached a replacement threshold.

yep that was my logic as well, back in September DJI told me that MPP be available for purchase on the 23rd of September. I figure the time I got back from vacation 1 October that would be ample buffer. After looking around the net on availability started reading all types of reason that they were not available from outstock to folks being told they had to cancel their pre order. With winter come and really no good communication from dgi on all the delays, I figure the cost / benefit of waiting was not large enough.

its one of those things, how long do you wait, I am just glad it was such a poor "upgrade".
frankly its barely a upgrade at all
