Radar altimeter

My Mavic Pro had a radar altimeter. When you were less than 30 feet from the ground, it would tell you exactly how high you were. The Mavic 3 doesn't have it. The obstacle avoidance only starts to tell you the distance from the ground at around 15 feet. To bad. I liked the radar altimeter.

The Mavic Pro did not have a radar altimeter - it had an earlier version of the VPS that is also on the M3. The downward range on the MP was 13 m, compared to 18 m on the M3.

Good question - it's used for stability and obstacle avoidance, and it's recorded in the log files, but it isn't actually displayed in the Fly app.

Both drones have VPS but the Fly app doesn't display the VPS data.

Too bad. I really liked that feature on the Mavic Pro and it was really useful.

Yea, I get that. I consider that the obstacle avoidance info.
