Just came across this post by a guy in Hong Kong. He measured the transmit power of the same MA2 when connected to the Andriod and iOS versions of the FLY app and found that the power is 4 dB higher ( or 150% higher in linear scale ) for Andriod. Just wondering if you guys in the State see any difference in this regard. With the Andriod FLY app, he could get a range of 11 km.

Can't see how that is logically possible as it's the RC that transmits the signal and not the device hooked up to it.

Maybe there was some sort of external interference during the IOS sample

I agree. A bogus proposition.

Something here doesn’t add up, considering he’s got the iPhone app in fcc mode, where Hong Kong is CE region I think.
And the spec for FCC mode @ 5.8 GHz is 26dB

It all smells a bit fishy.
