Range

Has the range or video link quality (on screen/goggles, not recorded video) improved since the Mavic Pro?

I'm wondering whether I should get the Mavic 2 or the cheaper original one. I'm not that concerned with recorded video and photo quality. I just like to fly the drone for fun with goggles.

Any idea if the Goggles RE have the same range as the remote control? E.g. does it utilize OcuSync 2.0?

Range never was a problem for me with MP1. Regular flights were within a range of 1-2Km without any issues.

My understanding is that if you use the old white goggles with the Mavic 2 it'll only use the 2.4Ghz band but still work, and with the new RE goggles they'll use the full Ocusync 2.0 and switch between 2.4 and 5.8Ghz.

Range is not an issue w/ MP, it all depends where you fly.

Wait.. is it not an issue, or does it depend on where you fly? It seems like you are saying two different things.

The Pro range in itself should be more than enough. Actually I'm more interested in having a longer range with 1080p video downlink. The Mavic 2 supposedly has 1080p in the entire range, rather than switching to 720p at anything beyond short range.
