Went on a Canyoning trip up in Alpine Utah this last week, and I was able to catch some shots with the drone of the adventure.
Nice flying! What type of drone? That was a place and the the type of shooting that requires extra drone caretaking. How did you keep it, the batteries and the controller dry, not so much when flying but when handling them with other wet gear and clothes and while being all wet yourself? I’m bringing mine kayaking and I’m curious about how best to handle the drone and other equipment while everything else is wet.

Good questions. I have taken drone into water a few times. The key to success is to pack light (I only brought one battery, but I probably could have gotten away with two batteries. I have a Mavic Air 3, so the battery life is pretty good, but the drone is fairly big. This would be easier with a mini. What you need is a dry bag that can fit your drone, remote, and any extra batteries. It is also helpful to keep a towel in the dry bag to dry your hands when you are ready to fly. I went down the waterfalls first and then recorded my friends coming down afterward.Nice flying! What type of drone? Thanks millbah. It was a fun time.Good work, some crazy stuff in that video.
The drone is a game changer for capturing rappelling. No other way to get these type of shots.Great use of a drone to capture the adventure.
Thanks, Sky Wombat.Great to see something different, covered so well.
Thanks GFields. It is kind of a niche sport. You have to be at least part adrenaline junky to dig it.Wow! Awesome video! But, TBT I have NO desire to try that lol
