RC connected to DJI Flight Simulator, but controls don't work

My standard Mavic 2 connects to the DJI Flight Simulator, but there is no response from the control sticks. A smart controller connects and works well.
I have tried different cables, reinstalling after using shift, reset etc. and installing the drivers in the Flight Simulator folder.
Windows 10 says it doesn't recognize the controller as a valid USB device. I don't know what else to try.
Help will be much appreciated.

I've had exactly the same problem and have not been able to find a solution. Did you have any luck? I would certainly like to get some practice in on bad weather days! Thanks.

I should say I'm using a mavic 2 Pro.
