Recording and battery life

Just wondering . If flying home on low battery , does stopping recording save on power usage thus extending your flight time or is it inconsequential?

I've always played it safe by turning it off because hey, every bit counts right, but honestly I think the battery drain is probably negligible compared to the transmission of the video stream back to you while you fly.

And that's nothing when compared to the drain on the batteries of 4 screaming motors.

Given there's basically no extra draw I'd say the opposite, better record so you've got something to refer to to help you find it if you don't make it.
