Excuse me if this question has been asked already.

I have confusion about drone registration. I’m wanting to buy a new DJI Mini 4 Pro with the plus batteries thus putting it over the 250 gram weight. So is registration tied to needing to take the part 107 certification?

I have the TRUST certificate in hand and plan to be flying 100% recreational use only, so I am aware I need to register the over 250 gram drone but am I also required to do the 107 certification bit also?

Thanks for your assistance in clearing up this confusion.

Well that was as about clear as mud? Now I need ask the FAA the same question?

Are you sure you're flying a drone that's more than 55 pounds?

As I understand it a DJI mini 4 pro with the plus batteries qualifies as over the 250 gram mark. I haven’t made a purchase yet as I would really like to get my facts straight before doing so.

Correct. If you use the plus batteries, It puts it over 250 grams, and would require registration at "The Drone Zone'. You do not have a drone weighing more than 55 pounds. You need to answer NO to that. But, you also cannot register a drone that you don't yet have... it requires the serial # for registration, which is your remote id number.

That's correct.

Why did you answer that you're flying a drone over 55 pounds?

Ah, so, start from the top again.

Well I pulled the trigger and purchased from Amazon the DJI mini 4 pro plus fly more package. Thanks for the help. Once it arrives I’ll get it registered at the FAA website.

You won't be disappointed. I have the m4P and it's a great drone. 6 months later, I already have the Air 3S 😁

Recreational pilots do not need part 107 certification.
Just to reiterate: So all I need is the TRUST certificate (in hand already), to register the DJI mini 4 pro once it arrives with the FAA, and sticker the drone with registration and cell numbers for recreational flying I’m legal. CORRECT?

That's correct. All you really need is your faa registration number, but a contact number is a good idea in case you lose it and someone comes across it. I actually put "Reward If Found" on mine as an incentive for someone. You'd have to negotiate a deal with them depending on what kind of shape it's in at the time.

Thanks for clearing up all the confusion on my part. What you recommend in my opinion is a good insurance policy that if I lose the drone it just might come back to me.

DJI has a "flyaway" plan that seems to work well for folk who have lost their drones. But they do not cover stupidity (like flying your drone into tree branches). Your homeowners might work, too, but your deductible and next years premium may encumber the financial benefits of using it.

Before you start the motors on the drone read up on "care refresh"...it is a form of insurance offered by dji ...I believe that once you start the drone you become ineligible for care refresh

...Also Pilotinstitute is a widely recognized training company for drone activity...they provide stickers with all the necessary information to put on the drone free of charge

Fortunately DJI Care Refresh will cover your damaged drone if you fly it into the tree branches. It's that good!

Just don't send them a note saying you purposely crashed into the branches in order to cause the damage.

Pretty much all DJI drones will allow you to add DJI Care Refresh to the drone at least one time but never more than once. If you have a drone which has never had DJI Care Refresh in the past then you can automatically add it within 72 hours after activation and beyond that time, you will need to complete the "video verification" process (easy) to get it added. In the past, I have added DJI Care Refresh to 2-yo refurb drones.
