Probably a dumb question: is there anyplace on the drone body I shouldn't put the registration sticker. I read to avoid placing a strobe over the GPS antenna but wondering what the rules are for a Brother P-touch label...?

Thanks in advance!

You can place stickers (or decals) anywhere on the drone body. They won't negatively affect the GPS or other hardware components within.

Put the label where it can be seen. Part 107 Registered Drone must have their registration number visible, not hidden... And SInce you are going for your Part 107 Certification, get it right the first time. Not hidden under a battery or something...

From an old posting M made years ago...

All registered drones (Part 107 or not) must be marked on a visible exterior surface of the drone.

You are right, my bad, I knew that but I did not say it. And it could cause confusion, in my haste, I got tangled up trying to not say that Sub-250-gram Recreational Flyers needed it too. In my original posting, I was also trying to get Recreational Flyers who did not need to register their drones to at least put their phone number on their drones as they are the most likely to lose a drone in a tree or elsewhere…

As an aside, I have my reg number on an outside surface, and then a more complete ID on a thin card under the battery.

I have a lot of red reflective tape all over my drones to keeps birds away. Bald Eagles are a threat here, as are Cooper's and Broadwing hawks. I also have Tile QR code stickers and a P-Touch label with my 107 registration on each aircraft. I also use strobes routinely. None of these items seem to impact GPS or ADS-B inbound signals, nor do the impact the control signals or video feed.

Just a side note, place your information on the SD CARD as a text file just in case the stickers fail if lost and not found for a while.

RTH may work for you. ;)

And remember to replace the file when you reformat the MicroSD Card in the Drone...
