After purchasing a RID module is it normal for the manufacturer to charge you to be able to bind the unit to your drone so it will broadcast the info??

That is not normal.

Which RID module did you purchase?

I've never tried that brand. Did you follow the instructions from the included User Manual?

The manual only instructs you to install the Bwine app and enter the Remote ID and aircraft details.

Did you call someone for help with binding the unit? It sounds like you may have paid a 3rd party to assist with registering your drone with the FAA.

Well to enter the aircraft details requires a $3 payment for me to do that eventhough it says free. See enclosed screenshot.

Also no call was made for help. Had to download QR code in instructions to download the app that will allow you to see all remote id drones in the area. This app is needed to bind the module to the drone also.

I'm able to install that app, but I cannot go through the entire process since I don't have that RID module.

At which step in this video are you seeing it redirect to that payment website?

Of course. But you somehow got to that website. How did you get there?

When I installed the app from the QR code in the manual (in your photo), it looks what is shown in the video above. I cannot get as far as you in the process though since I don't have the RID module to continue the process.

The screenshot you showed above is not from the app. It's from the web browser on your phone.

All pics are from said manual included with the module.

I'm sorry msinger, I'm just getting frustrated. Nothing has gone as planned trying to get all my ducks in a row with my MP. Can you recommend a decent RID module that won't break the bank? I can't believe some of the high prices for these. Thank you for your time

The screen capture you posted in post #7 asking for CC information is from Chrome browser and at some online gaming site. Nothing to do with the Bwine RID Module.

Have you tried following the exact steps in this video? If so, can you tell me exactly at which point in the video you see the request to pay?

The Ruko or Holy Stone RID modules still seem to be the most popular. I own the Holy Stone.

That said, I don't know if purchasing a different RID module is going to help. Whatever is asking you to pay seems to be occurring somewhere outside of the Bwine app.

I’m using the HolyStone RID module which is now $29 on Amazon. Sure beats the $89 I paid for it over a year ago.
