S8 and S8+ HDMI out with port replicator

I just purchased this:

I think this should allow me to use HDMI out to goggles. The controller micro USB will be connected to the full size USB on the adapter and I'll run the HDMI to my DJI Goggles. The point of this is that I don't like the heads up display on the goggles. I want the tachometer and full map access like in the DJI Go 4. Now hopefully the S8+ will be reliable and not crash. I'll set the screen to min brightness as I'll be using the Goggles.

But if your connecting your phone to the goggles how are you connecting it to the controller?

Karl... You are right... It won't work.... I was thinking in terms of the Spark controller, which can connect to the phone wirelessly.
