A fun video (watch till the end) of some Torros (Jack Crevalles) rounding up and feeding on sardines in front of my house in Baja.

Very nice capture.
For some reason, Youtube only give options to view up to 720p, pity.

I'd be tempted to start the vid at the 1:45 mark, just as the sardine schools are coming into view.
The Pelican (?) appearance was awesome at 2:05, as too the feeding carnage at 2:24.

Had a google, the Crevelle Jack is also known as the Black-Tailed Trevally, a species of fish related to our Silver Trevally.
Yours are all cold water, ours warm water.
They are a great fighting fish, and yes quite edible, though not as prized as some of our other species.

Do people fish for these ?
A silver shiner (lure) thrown out there would be fun.

Especially loved the seabird joining in at the end for a meal.

You’re right - 2oz spoon, 8lb line with a spinning real, then hang on! Locals use a spark plug with a live sardine (can be picked up on the beach after a run).
