Sardine Roundup

Very nice capture.
For some reason, Youtube only give options to view up to 720p, pity.

I'd be tempted to start the vid at the 1:45 mark, just as the sardine schools are coming into view.
The Pelican (?) appearance was awesome at 2:05, as too the feeding carnage at 2:24.

Had a google, the Crevelle Jack is also known as the Black-Tailed Trevally, a species of fish related to our Silver Trevally.
Yours are all cold water, ours warm water.
They are a great fighting fish, and yes quite edible, though not as prized as some of our other species.

Do people fish for these ?
A silver shiner (lure) thrown out there would be fun.

You’re right - 2oz spoon, 8lb line with a spinning real, then hang on! Locals use a spark plug with a live sardine (can be picked up on the beach after a run).
