Seattle Air2s after crashing my Air2...lol

Welcome to the forum from the mountains of Colorado! Retired ATC and also love the PNW. I lived in Seattle for a few years a long time. Love the area! Happy and safe flying!
Thanks! I was in Colorado last year---beautiful country there !

You moved to Kansas from the bluest state in the union? Did you have culture shock? ;-)
Actually I was transplanted twice to Washington state, the first when I was stationed in the Navy at Bremerton back in the early 1990’s and then about 15 years later when I took a job up in Camas in semiconductor manufacturing. Between those two times I also lived in San Diego, Colorado Springs and New York. Washington state wasn’t bad at all back in the 90’s or maybe I just didn’t notice the politics at the time. One thing that stood out though was the pictogram of a salmon on all the storm drains, a reminder of what the fishing industry meant to the state’s economy. Looking back, that was a harbinger of things to come. But I have been to all 50 states and sadly Washington state is one of the worst politically, actually the entire west coast seems to have lost their collective minds. Kansas is a democratic state, but Governor Laura Kelly is more of a centrist. But once again I’ll be moving back to the east coast to be closer to the grandkids in Virginia, where my son will soon be retiring from the Navy as well. I was born and raised near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania so my roots run deep with conservative values, but I’m trying to ignore most of the political barking that goes on these days. But I will always fight for what I believe is right! But when I’m not flying my Piper Saratoga, I enjoy taking these DJI drones up and getting the photographs I used to have to take by pushing the Piper’s window open, leaning out past the plexiglass and snapping 35mm film photographs. Much easier, cheaper and better results!! But do the entire country a favor and vote Inslee out of office! Peace out!!

Well, in the interest of keeping the peace, I'll just say that I love Washington, it's leaders and it's political climate. One of this country's biggest problems is we find it hard these days to tolerate each other's perspectives -- something encouraged by a few politicians and foolishly embraced by many. Nothing like a good wedge issue to generate votes.

Our strength as a country has always been the ability to come together as a free-thinking and caring people. Nowadays we are a "house divided against itself " which, as we all know, cannot stand for long.

Anyway, I was born on the east coast (D.C.) and left there around 50 years ago. My mom was born in Punxsutawney, which I'm sure you know of. The only things I miss about the east are the wonderful fall colors and food. Like you, I love my Cessna but take better pictures with my drones. ...Take care
