Tried to bind my remote controller today to set up new flyaway insurance
on my DJI Care Refresh Policy. The Serial number for the remote controller
listed in the about section on my Fly app is different from the one that comes up
on the binding section in the device management section. When i asked DJI for
help they told me i must have changed the remote from the original one supplied
with the drone, it isn't i've only ever had one. ???
Any advice welcome, thanks.

What is the name of the serial number you are looking at in the app?
What drone?
And have you seen the flyaway replacement cost?
With the MM I have just looked at the "Remote Controller SN" listed in the app does not match the number on the sticker on the back of the controller but does match the serial number listed in the .txt flight log.
Is the website asking for the flight controller sn by any chance?

Yeah...ridiculous. $225 for the Mini 2 and what, $399 or something for the MA2. Basically charging you full price minus cost of controller (and spare batteries.)

It asks for remote controller SN not Flight controller.
My Flight controller SN is identical to my drone SN.
When i try to bind my remote the device management
shows a completely different SN that doesn't match
anything. ?
Sorry this should be linked to Philliusfogggs post

It's different for my controller as well.

Oh ok interesting, mine starts with 1WPB and 396l as well. I'll contact
them again tomorrow, hopefully they will be more helpful.

Right i have an answer to this mystery, DJI have said that the serial number you
see in the about section of the app, the 396L number is the number for the
main circuit board within the controller, the 1WPB number is the serial number for the controller as a whole thing. So the remote controller has two serial numbers
......just to make things even more confusing.

Was having the same issue, glad I found this link. I will bind just to get rid of the message, but @ $399.00 I am glad I bought the "article insurance" for $75.00 from Allstate. Noooo thank you. o_O
