Slow speed low to floor crash

Was flying attitude mode in a gym. Low Battery level sounded at 30%. I flew a bit more, less than 2minutes. All of a sudden at around 2 feet it started flying toward a wall 20 feet away and it hit. It would not respond to any inputs. Absolutely nothing broke. Thankfully. Why would it do that?

Flying indoors, I’m going to bet it either changed in or out of gps and atti modes.

It was weird. It just drifted away. Thumbs off sticks.

My first thought is that Return to Home kicked in but you would have heard the irritating beeping from the controller. You were using the RC, right? You mentioned "thumbs off sticks" but there are virtual "sticks" using the app on your display device.

I never fly the Mavic indoors for that reason. The couple times I've tried it drifts around and the last time it slammed into the wall and broke an arm. It flies perfect outdoors. I bought a Spark which flies great indoors.
