Slow uploads to Photos on a Mac

As I type this, I am uploading about 40 items (photos and videos) to my Mac. I'm using a card reader to upload from the SanDisk to the Mac. So far it has been close to an hour with 16 still to go. Is this usual? Is there a way to speed it up? It would be almost as fast just to download directly from the drone to my iPhone using the Fly app.

Try a different card reader, don't know the specs of Macs but it shouldn't take that long whatever they are.

Yeah, I didn’t think it should take that long either. Guess. I’ll have to try a new card reader although this one has worked well before.
