Small screen phone?

Has anyone used a small phone with their Mavic? We have an old iphone 5c we don't use, and I was thinking about having a dedicated phone for flying. I know a bigger screen is better, but is a smaller one usable?
 
An iPhone 5c is too slow to run DJI GO. An iPhone 5s is the oldest iPhone it supports.
