Those are my reasons why I like ("like" is too emotional), well, appreciate it. I am not alone.

Well I love mine. Yes there will be a better one at some point. Today there is only one device that does what the SC can do.

There is no other device that is ALL-in-one for the Mavic 2.

That is 100% why I bundled and got mine. I needed a new screen.

Smart Controller bundled is cheaper than buying a Mavic 2 and a Crystalsky.

Even if it wasn't cheaper I would still go for the SC because I don't like needing cables/adapters/tablet holders etc... that's just more stuff to carry.

I did. I didn’t plan on selling the cs, but after using the sc, I know that I’ll never use the cs again.
I also believe that the plan is for the sc to be compatible with future drones.
The smart controller and crystal sky are different products.

Finally someone that agrees with me. They are not the same product.

Yes it is, and convenient, but as I’ve posted elsewhere, it needs a 7.85” screen option like the CS for those of us who are older or just want to more easily access all the settings and info. If it shows up with a bigger screen I’ll jump on it.
I think that is a valid point.

I still say it is telling that 90% of the people that own one won't sell it or return it. There is a reason you can't find these at BestBuy. They are sold out.

Do you have a Crystal(sky) Ball? Whats the weather looking like for tomorrow?

Today there is only one device that does what the SC can do.

And many that do what it cant, and they are being sold by DJI as well. We are not talking about apples and oranges. We are talking about apples and apples (but not Apples).

That is 100% why I bundled and got mine. I needed a new screen.

And that might be the only way anyone who wants one might ever to buy it again. In a bundle. As if right bnow, they are out of stock (except I do have a few for sale) in all major sellers including DJI.

Um not really. It depends who you buy it from.

Even if it wasn't cheaper I would still go for the SC because I don't like needing cables/adapters/tablet holders etc... that's just more stuff to carry.

But you dont mind carrying around a charger, controller, batteries, drone, carrying case, gimbal protector, etc?

Vive la guerre. Vive la difference. Vive la comapgnie DJI.

But... 7 out of 10 DJI owners will not buy a Smartcontroller for a variety of reasons.
Ok... but those that do buy it won't return or sell it.

Or... they simply didnt produce enough of them

Or... they dont want to sell them as a standalone product any more. Only with bundles.

Anyones guess?
What we do know is that demand is higher than supply. Otherwise you could get one. Kind of basic economics.

Basic economics to geniuses like you and me maybe, but they get an F- in marketing.

Maybe supply is there, but the SC is being repackaged, and only sold with combos.

I like the smart controller. Much better than arsing around with the phone controller and cable. However I’m having issues with the smart controller I have been loosing the video feed now and again and The Go4 app has been crashing. I took the SD card out and it has not crashed since nor have I lost video feed either. I’m not the only one with the video feed problem. I had problems with my iPad mini and controller combo, that’s why I bought the smart controller. I’m sure DJI will sort it out one day

That has happened to me a few times also. I just end up restarting it a few times until I get the display up.

One word keeps occurring to me... marketing.
Done in such a way as to create the market and sell more drones at the same time.

Still, if I could get the larger screen I’d love simplicity and could use my CS when a particular need arose.

Oh, by the way, the number is over 4000 drones that I have bought sold and repaired, and triple that number in posts and threads that I have advised for free here on Mavicpilots.

And what is your raison d'etre?
I was going by your quote in an interview, but if you say 4000 since 2016, that’s impressive. 4 repairs a day every day except Sunday’s (just an average) got 3 years. Your business is booming and good luck to you. That’s a hell of a lot of mavic repairs in the U.S. What are you guys doing to your drones up there :)

Of your 13000 posts, I would hardly say they are all free advice for people, I think a great many are just fluff, but I agree you are a helpful member of the community. You just don’t like to be disagreed with (my opinion from observations)

And my raisin d’etre, —— I just come here to read and learn and give my opinion on things at various times, maybe give advice where I think I can from my experience. Pretty much why most people are here I guess.
My RC experience may not be as vast as yours, but I’ve been in the aviation industry since I joined the airforce at 16, served 20 years in various squadrons including time as an instructor and have worked on everything from maritime defence, strategic bombers, drones (yes these have been around since the 50s) and trainers and aerobatic display team (RAAF Roulettes). Im an aerospace engineer and a pilot and have had RPAS qualification here in Australia for 10 years now. (when I did my CASA quals for RPAS, there was 15 of us in the country). I now still work with defence and some government departments in reguards to RPAS and I’m head of Aviation for Education Queensland. I have also helped establish and run the Cert 3 Aviation - RPAS in Australia, which is an academic qualification related to RPAS, soon to lead into a diploma course that will be offered at University level.
So I haven’t repaired a massive amount of DJI drones, but I have designed, tested, built, many drones as well as DJI platforms (I don’t keep count) and train others to do the same as well as training them to setup and operate RPAS in many scenarios including SAR, inspections and a multitude of other applications.
20 years military experience and 20years civilian experience in aviation.

We all bring something different to this table and everyone here has some form of validity to their opinions and posts. I learn something new nearly every week and will never have the opinion that I know it all because of me experience

Now I’m sure you will want the last word, so jump on in, I’m done
