So angry with DHL

I ordered an Avata 2 on Dec 23rd directly from the DJI site and it arrived on Dec 26th. Shipped via DHL with no hassles.

I'm still "waiting" on the Avata 2 I ordered from the DJI store on Amazon on Nov 26th to show up. 😡 the tracking information still says that it was shipped but is likely lost. Ya think?
There is a scam Chinese seller on Amazon offering DJI drones at a 26% discount that is easily confused with DJI and pretends to ship by providing a USPS tracking number which is never delivered to the USPS. Amazon vehemently defends this scam "A to Z" seller, and allows them to keep extending the delivery date, and then covers up all the negative customer reviews with strikeouts, claiming the fulfillment problems with the order were not the fault of the seller! It will take hours on the phone with Amazon to finally get your refund. After telling me that Amazon had permanently banned the seller from their marketplace, the seller has created a brand new account is back at it again today! Caveat emptor!

Beware of any DJI drone purchase from Amazon that does not specifically say "Sold by Amazon.com" and "Shipping from Amazon.com"

An update on my purchase direct from DJI: So it said it shipped on 1/1, but UPS tracking says it still hasn't gotten the package. After 3 chats with DJI (Sunday, Monday and this morning), I was finally told that the Air 3S is out of stock, and they aren't sure when more will be in. When I ordered on 12/30, their site said delivery by 1/2. After being told they are out of stock, I checked the site... if I ordered today, delivery will be February 9th. I ordered on 12/30 so I can claim it on my taxes, so I don't want to cancel. But Drone Point CA still has them in stock, so I am tempted to cancel and order from them. I don't really need it, so I am going to wait it out with DJI.

I guess you know you're in trouble when DJI runs out... lol...

Sometimes DJI will fill the other channels (Amazon, Best Buy, 3rd party sellers) before their own direct channel. My guess is more drones are filling the non-US channels thru DJI where they can get better traction. Sounds like the US is seeing what other countries often see.

Drones consist of parts, it's not like medicine. They need to be assembled and packaged. If you run out of batteries, you can't ship. If you run out of printed boxes, you can't ship. No remotes, there's a delay. If a production line shuts down due to a quality issue, there is a delay. For items like an iPad, they need good displays and it's not going to matter how many iPad parts you have, if you don't have a perfect display, the rest of everything else you have doesn't matter. You only have as many iPads to sell as you have perfect displays which is not easy since pretty much every single iPad sold has to have a perfect display.

It's still early in the life of the Air 3S so you don't exactly run out of drones. You can't wait until you have 50,000 drones completely built and sitting on the shelf before you start selling them. My guess is there have been a large number of drones sent out that were "returned" and "replaced" which is causing an unusual delay.

Most of DJI's initial Air 3S inventory batch is probably still being warehoused at various U.S. Customs facilities, held in purgatory! Can't be delivered until cleared, and still haven't yet been returned because the orders are not being canceled by hopeful buyers. LOL!

Still waiting for anyone who recently ordered an Air 3S directly from DJI to confirm they are able to be received in the U.S..

It's not looking good.

Some eastern states (NY, NJ, PA) appear to be totally out of luck!

Adorama is now quoting March for expected availability for all configurations except the base kit with the RC-N3, which they apparently still have in stock.
If you still want one ASAP, that's your best option right now. Free delivery by Friday!

I ended up cancelling my order at DJI. They said it was shipped, then said it wasn't because they were out of stock.

For those of you that ordered from Drone Point Canada, roughly how much was the import/customs fee? I just want to prepare for it.

I purchased 2 AIR3 S drones from Drone Point. There was no import/customs fee.

When I get my refund from DJI, that's what I'm going to do. This whole process from DJI was such a mess. First they tell me that even though it says "Shipped" they were out of stock, so it didn't really ship. I cancel the order, and the next day tracking finally says it's in Kentucky. I ask DJI if the order was cancelled, they say no. Then they check again, and say yes. So after 4 chats and a phone call, I get an email this morning saying my refund will be in my PayPal in 1-3 days.

This morning I just noticed this forum now shows the DJI Air 3 S is advertised on DJI Drone Deals, on Amazon. Doesn't appear to be sold by Amazon tho.
