So angry with DHL

you are probably correct. After my chat with DJI yesterday, they must have contacted dhl directly as my package is now on its way back to DJI. I should get an email today updating me on what happens next. If they send a new one i will wait but afraid it will end up in customs hell as well. I may chat again today and ask for the refund and order elsewhere. We shall see
Based upon this thread, shipping from Canada is the only way DJI orders can still be successfully received in the U.S..

www.Dronepoint.ca for the win!

Ordered Air 3S Fly More from the DJI site on Nov 23, shipped on Nov 25, arrived on Nov 27.

Super fast. I had no issues with customs. I actually had to ask DHL to redeliver the package on a later date because it arrived so much quicker than I expected.

Where are you located?

Where are you located?
Missouri USA.

It looks like the package went through Ontario Canada, Cincinnati OH, Franklin Park IL, and Hazelwood MO on the way to me.

It's hard to make sense of some of the tracking information.

Aha!!! Clever, DJI! Looks like they’re shipping to Canada to get around US customs, clearing Canadian customs, then taking advantage of the USMCA to get it into the US with no customs scrutiny.

That hole will get plugged, I predict.

I'm almost ready to get the Air 3S, and from the posts here, I'll be getting it from DronePoint to avoid the customs mess. But I have a question... I had to get onto the USPS web site a few minutes ago to check on something, and I see this big red banner telling me that USPS shipping with Canada is suspended due to a Canadian mail strike. Does DronePoint use the Canadian postal service???

Not that I am aware of. When I purchased both of my Air 3S drones they used UPS to ship to California both times.

Luckily there are at least 3 other major commercial shippers still doing brisk business for the holidays (DHL, UPS, Fedex) so when checking out, maybe you can take a look at the different options available at different prices. I wouldn't use DHL but that depends on where you are I guess.

Rhode Island. It would be just my luck that things go totally off the rails when I'm ready to buy... lol..

As @Droning on and on... has already pointed out, it appears that DJI is now smartly exploiting the same loophole through Canada to the United States that is working for DJI's Canadian dealers. Makes a lot of sense!

Please note this is at cost to the American drone consumer.

In addition, the added costs to DJI will need to be eventually passed along as well.

How so? DJI has repeatedly proven to be able to lower costs and increase performance in every way to beat out the competition. Until the loop hole is plugged, they will continue to exploit it. Absorbing increased shipping costs is no big deal. Their profit margin on these drones is astronomical.

I just ordered a DJI Refurbished Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo Plus RC 2 kit directly from DJI online for $929 and bought DJI Care on it for $79 more. This kit without DJI Care sells for $1159 as a "new" unit from both DJI and everyone else stateside. Expected shipping date is Dec 9 with delivery expected Dec 12.

Works for me. Let's see if it shows up! LOL!
Got my social security card, passport, and DL ready just in case!
Might be my last DJI purchase!

In a week they'll be routing through Azerbaijan to Luxembourg, then on to The Seychelles, and from there DJI products must go through The Bahamas, all shipping labeling replaced, then shipped to Juarez Mexico where finally the parcel is assigned to a caravan member and passes into the US via a "gotaway" migrant.

Final last mile delivery is handled by the Sinaloa Cartel.

Thanks, US Government. Don't y'all feel more Nationally Secure? 🤣

At least the Sinaloa Cartel would manage to get it here, by hook or crook! LOL!

I can confirm that my order directly from DJI online, placed just last week on December 4th, for a refurbished Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo Plus RC 2 kit, arrived 5 days early, on Sunday, Dec. 8th, without a hitch, directly from Hong Kong via DHL, with Customs holds released during shipment. I was not contacted for anything. So the DJI EXPRESS pipeline from China is still open!

So I ordered the Air 3S Fly More with RC2 on 12/30. on 1/1 I got the shipping notice, shipped via HK UPS. Of course I'm anxious to get it, but should I be worried about HK UPS?

Not unless it gets held up in Customs. Just monitor the tracking number for progress to the destination. DJI is apparently now using both UPS and DHL, in an effort to expedite deliveries to the U.S..
