No problem with wind that day, as I recall. But that is a definite possibility up there!

Thanks! The alpine glaciers have been receding for some time now, and the pace of melting seems to be accelerating.
This particular area is one of the snowiest areas in the lower 48. Nevertheless, several of the glaciers on Mount Baker have been documented as receding surprisingly quickly (especially in the last 10 to 20 years). These images are from 2020, btw.

I was up there in 2010 - there was more snow and ice. Like Glacier NP - a couple ice banks remain.
