Air 2s Spring Morning In San Diego

Went down to Windansea beach on Saturday. I started out planning on just shooting the surfers, but there weren’t many decent waves. I spent most of a battery just hovering waiting for something good. Instead, I decided to try to capture the nice morning at the beach. I still can’t believe the beach was so empty. 70 degrees, no wind, and a beautiful day for the few surfers, the lifeguards, some locals walking their dogs and me.

Nicely done. Surfers are hard to shoot. The seem to all get together to chat and only occasionally deem a wave worth the effort of surfing. I do a fair amount of still photography on them, and between occasional scenes of drama and effort, there is a lot of nothing.

Absolutely Jim and thanks. Some days are much better than others when the wave sets are better and much closer together. I've shot surfers for a long time before I bought a drone and enjoy it, but I also get comfortable for the long waits in between. LOL Lots of examples are at Surf Photos.
